Lariano, work on the Sports Hall begins

Lariano will have its Sports Hall and the Deputy Mayor with responsibility for Sports, Roberta Bartoli and the Councilor for Public Works, Enrico Romaggioli, are working hard to complete the work.

“An opera – declared the Mayor, Francesco Montecuollo – which will become another business card for our Lariano, a country of sport. A modern and inclusive place like we want our city to be. A building where we can host sportspeople from Lariano and beyond, beautiful to look at and welcoming to visit, which will be built with all the trappings of safety and inclusiveness because it will be the home of all sportspeople, including those with disabilities.”

The Sports Hall which will be built in the Colle Fiorentino area and which will cover an area of approximately 3,600 m2, is a public work of great importance for Lariano. The financing, obtained through PNRR funds, is shared with the Italian Paralympic Powerchair Sport Federation which combines two sports disciplines: the Powerchair Hockey and the Powerchair Football, sports disciplines both played in wheelchairs. Thanks to this Federation, further and more precise changes are being made to the project which will make the structure accessible to all athletes.

Both Councilors, Bartoli and Romaggioli, declare themselves extremely satisfied with the course that the process for the construction of the Palazzetto is taking: “As Deputy Mayor but above all as Councilor for Sport – declared Roberta Bartoli – I believe it is essential to be able to create a place to welcome our sports clubs and external guests. Lariano has always given Italian sport numerous talents who have reached very high peaks, therefore the Palazzetto dello Sport is the worthy treasure chest for these sporting treasures and for the champions to come”.

One of the fundamental steps is being taken in recent days, namely the cleanup of any weapons of war. This is a necessary step because the discovery of war devices throughout the territory of the Castelli Romani is anything but a rare occurrence and because the foundations of the structure will be deeply rooted in the ground and therefore any possibility of any devices surfacing or hidden.

“After we have finished the reclamation, we will proceed with the start of work for the actual construction of the sports hall. – concluded the Councilor for Public Works Enrico Romaggioli – Despite the bureaucratic difficulties that beset all Administrations, I am satisfied with the work that our Technical Offices are carrying out. We can say that we have entered, at full speed, the preparatory phase for laying the first stone. The Sports Hall will be one of the most important structures in our city and the only thing we want is to deliver it as soon as possible and in the best possible way to all our fellow citizens”.
