Castellammare – D’Apuzzo’s objectives: «Efficient, livable and attractive city»

An efficient, livable, attractive city. These are the key points of the centre-right program which is nominating Mario D’Apuzzo for mayor in the next administrative elections of Castellammare di Stabia. Starting from the concept of shared administration and with the aim of reviving the city by intervening on social hardship and the gap between the center and the suburbs, the programmatic lines shared by the coalition aim to bring Castellammare back to the center of the Campania tourist agenda by enhancing its cultural and artistic heritage and naturalistic.
The program signed by the coalition that supports the lawyer D’Apuzzo aims to relaunch the socio-economic system of the area with the aim of raising the level of quality of life by pragmatically intervening in the fight against poverty and hardship, in favor of the valorisation of cultural and tourist identity of the city and the improvement of urban safety. A complex concept that must be understood not only as a fight against the Camorra and against all forms of petty crime, but also against inequalities of all kinds, from economic-social ones to those in access to services.
In this context, the plan to promote 360-degree environmental sustainability is included, also through building redevelopment and the removal of architectural barriers. The intent is to strategically address the center-periphery inequality, focusing attention above all on those areas of the city today considered of poor quality. There are several points on the agenda to pursue this objective. Among these, a path of agreement with the Istituto Autonomo Case Popolari (Iacp), also through access to Pnrr funds, for the renovation of the facades of the buildings located in the CMI, San Marco, Annunziatella, Pioppaino and Ponte Persica districts. At the same time, the coalition aims to
tackle with determination the problem of urban security undermined, in recent times, by the growing threat of petty crime.
In this sense, the commitment is to establish a constant dialogue with the relevant bodies for the targeted presence of law enforcement in the area and to increase the urban video surveillance system. Safety and liveability cannot ignore mobility and therefore the strengthening of transport, the use of green vehicles and the creation of cycle paths. The idea of creating multifunctional spaces, structures serving children and vulnerable groups is also part of the same general growth perspective of cities. A significant intervention planned also concerns the recovery and renovation of Villa Gabola and the adjoining botanical park, a property located in the San Marco district. The building will be converted into a “Centre for Youth Creativity”. The political intention is to launch a new phase of planning based on public-private partnerships, a shock to the economy to revive welfare.
