The seminarian Stefano Accornero will be ordained a priest. The ceremony will be held on Saturday 18 May in the Cathedral of Asti. Bishop Marco Prastaro will celebrate the mass. Born in 1998, originally from Refrancore Accornero, after attending classical high school he received the call and entered the seminary and for now he is the last seminarian of the Diocese of Asti. On 20 November 2022 he received the acolyte from Pope Francis, on the occasion of his visit to Asti. Then in September 2023 he became a deacon in a ceremony that took place in the Cathedral presided over by Bishop Prastaro and in the presence of the bishop emeritus Francesco Ravinale, the bishop of the diocese of Byumba (Rwanda) Papias and numerous priests and deacons of the diocese.
The first mass that Don Stefano will celebrate as a priest will be on Sunday 19 May, at 6pm, in the Church of Refrancore on the occasion of Pentecost.
“It will be a day of celebration and grace: the Lord chooses my weakness to show the strength of his love! Even today, even among us, God is faithful! In giving my life to the One who gave himself for me, every person with whom I have shared a little of the road becomes a piece in my history of salvation”, are the words of deacon Accornero.
