L’AQUILA – More protests over the chronic lack of parking in the historic center of L’Aquila, with residents, now exasperated, contesting what are considered further injustices for the issuing of permits.
And while we are organizing to form a Committee and bring the requests to the attention of the municipal administration, a group of citizens highlights: “We struggle every day to find parking, there are not enough spaces for residents and workers and professionals are unable to have their passes issued because they do not live in the centre. Instead, from time to time, we find ‘special’ permits on some cars.”
“This is the case of some authorizations issued in recent days for cars parked near the Court of Auditors. Permissions, probably, legitimate but which, given the situation, create quite a nuisance considering that they take away additional places from those who struggle every day to return home or simply go to work”, it is explained.
“Between construction sites and works in progress, which are also fundamental for the return to normality, eliminating even those few parking spaces available for those who live and work in the center is no longer tolerable – it is underlined – We have shown understanding and we have adapted to any available in recent years, despite the obvious inconveniences, but every day something new comes out to complicate a situation that is no longer sustainable. We ask that at least a bit of common sense be used when issuing permits.”
