Agreement between Daimler Truck Italia, LC3 Trasporti and Lidl Italia

The transition to emission-free vehicles represents an imperative necessity in the fight against climate change. This partnership between Daimler Truck Italia, LC3 Trasporti and Lidl Italia constitutes a concrete step towards decarbonisation and the energy revolution in the transport sector and was made official during the Transpotec 2024 Fair, an event of primary importance in the international panorama of the transport industry and logistics.

Michele Ambrogi, President of LC3 Trasporti commented: “This partnership represents a significant step for us towards the future of zero-emission transport. Our company is constantly looking for innovative solutions to guarantee our customers an efficient and cutting-edge logistics service from an environmental impact point of view. Today we are carrying forward our mission to achieve this goal by 2040 by achieving yet another record that we have the pleasure of sharing with two exceptional partners such as Daimler Truck Italia and Lidl. We are convinced that, through the use of the new eActros 600 at full capacity, we will pave the way for a new model of sustainable transport, demonstrating that it is possible to combine operational effectiveness and respect for the environment”.

Massimiliano Silvestri, President of Lidl Italia he added: “As a supermarket chain with 750 stores supplied daily from 11 platforms located throughout the country, we are well aware of the impact that the logistics sector has on the environment. For this reason, for years, we have undertaken a process of gradual decarbonisation of transport, convinced that the reduction of emissions also involves the choice of more sustainable means of transport. It is therefore an honor to announce this collaboration today with Daimler Truck Italia and LC3, partners with whom we share the same sustainability values. This new full electric tractor for long-distance transport represents the future of emission-free logistics and we are pleased to be among the first promoters”.

Maurizio Pompei, CEO of Daimler Truck Italia he has declared: “We are thrilled to partner with LC3 and Lidl to promote more sustainable mobility and reduce the environmental impact of road transport. Our eActros 600 represents the future of the transport industry, and we are delighted that Lidl is embracing this vision. The core of our philosophy for long-distance battery transport is offering customers an ecosystem, including vehicle technology, consultancy, charging infrastructure and support. By 2030 we expect our emissions-free vehicles to account for up to 60% of our total sales in Europe. Within our Daimler Truck Group, we have a strong focus on emission-free technologies. And five years from now we will have a complete portfolio of CO2-neutral products, with vehicles ranging from heavy distribution, regional to long haul.”
