Inaugurated a few days ago the new pump track in Bisceglie (Bat), a sports circuit created in the city thanks to the contribution of 500 thousand euros from regional funds, included in the Sustainable and Solidarity Living Programme.

At the inauguration, in addition to the local authorities, Francesco Moser, a former Italian road cyclist and track racer, was also present.

Intended for bicycles, skates, rollers, scooters and skateboards, the pump track in the San Pietro district of Bisceglie has totally renovated an abandoned area with two circuits with humps, bumps and banked and parabolic curves connected to each other and specifically designed to be traveled without pedaling or pushing, with just the push of the body.

With a modern design, the pump track has the aim of promoting outdoor sport, an active lifestyle and positive aggregation.

It is a sports facility accessible to allboth by beginners and professional athletes, thanks to the different routes of different difficulties.

The Bisceglie pump track: two tracks for a facility suitable for everyone

Two tracks of varying difficulty have been created at the Bisceglie pump track.

  • The kids trackpositioned to the north-east, is smaller in size (70 meters long), with 5 less pronounced curves and humps: it is designed for young or less experienced users or also as a heating circuit.
  • The pro track, to the south-west, has a greater number of curves (11), humps and more complex changes in direction also due to the inclination of those who travel along them. It is a more challenging circuit and suitable for a more expert or competitive level.

The new pump track is part of a broader plan redevelopment of neighborhoods: the fences were rebuilt in the area and new benches, racks and street furniture elements were installed, integrating public lighting for the track and pedestrian spaces.
