This morning, around 3:50, in Latina in Via Kennedy, there was a fire involving a hybrid car, a Toyota C-HR Hybrid, which caught fire under the parking lots of a building.
The Fire Brigade and the Carabinieri intervened and evacuated the residents of the building, 8 families in total, as the building had structural damage.
The carabinieri from the NOR – Aliquota Radiomobile and medical personnel from 118 arrived on site. Once the fire was put out, the families returned to their homes.
At the moment, the suspicion of arson is not plausible, as no trigger has been found. In all, around thirty people were evacuated, including some children. From what appears, the building is now safe and for this reason the evacuated families were able to return home.
The car caught fire in one of the car parks located under the building in Viale Kennedy. The flames caused pieces of plaster to collapse right against the car, so much so that the noise woke up the first tenants who called for help. The fire almost involved another car, a Citroen C3, which was close to the car that short-circuited.
The first floor of the building was touched by the flames, so much so that it was slightly blackened. A great scare, which fortunately ended without consequences.
