FLORENCE – Thursday 16 May reopens “The pier”, a summer space on the banks of the Arno, with a different event every evening until September (Lungarno Colombo, 27, free entry) and live music; artistic director is Daniele Palladini, manager of the Rex, supported by the creative agency Ergonauth, which will take care of the artistic and cultural programming.
Live music will, as always, be the backbone of the evenings at the Molo. The review “LungarnoLive” will host more well-known artists, who will alternate with promising young artists from the Florentine scene. Among the names this season we find: The Goose (June 9); swing, funk, reggae, blues innervate the performance of Streetino Jazz Band, scheduled for June 27; from the never extinguished ashes of the band Cave Canem, active since the 90s, are reborn It’s up to Sally, rock/pop band from Prato (30 June); then it will be the turn of pop rock and unconventional blues Tommy Agnello & The Giant Tubes, with Tommi Agnello: guitar and vocals; Marco Cattarossi on bass and Enrico Cecconi: on drums (7 July) and finally in a mix of Italian swing seasoned with rhythms from the Near East fused with rockabilly and Latin sounds, the Florentine quintet arrives Monkey Boys (July 21).
Furthermore, every weekend (Friday and Saturday) the Rex’s resident DJs will take turns at the Molo, to give the public the best musical background. In the console, Luca Di Venere, Leo Martera, Calafuria and Enrico Paoli. There will be an evening dedicated to the fireworks of San Giovanni, with a special event that will be announced in the next few days.
To celebrate the beginning and end of summer, the Molo offers two events in collaboration with the “Pimp my Vintage” market: one on May 26th and the other on September 1st, offering a unique opportunity to discover vintage garments, upcycling and remakes.
Among the sporting activities every Monday at the Pier there will be the opportunity to immerse yourself in the energy of capoeira with a dedicated course organized by the Escola Regional Capoeira Association of Florence; while Tuesdays will be dedicated to yoga, a perfect opportunity to relax and find your balance, organized by Wave Laboratorio del Movimento. Among the novelties of the season we find i calisthenics coursesfree body exercises held by Elysium and finally the T-rafting descents from the Pier to the Ponte Vecchio, in collaboration with the T-Rafting sports association; the European Football Championships will be screened from 15 June to 15 July.
Special attention in the calendar is dedicated to families, with some activities for younger patrons. The social cooperative RainbowLab offers creative workshops, which will take place every Thursday, where children can play and have fun in complete safety, while parents relax and enjoy the evening.
This year, a new entry arrives in the gastronomic offer Melaleuca, which takes up residence at the Molo with the summer pop up Taco Wolf. Recognized for their creative combinations, the menu offers both authentic Mexican tacos and fusion tacos using local ingredients, Tuscan meats and corn tortillas. Then the consolidated collaborations, including Eredi Nigro company with the characteristic Florentine lampredotto; Symbiosis, which offers pizza with organic and 0 km ingredients; The Elba pulp farm, with its fresh and tasty seafood recipes; there guarantee of the historic artisan ice creams Vivaldi ice cream shop. The beverage service, prepared on the banks of the Arno, is entrusted to Rex Florenceled by Moses Giordani, and will make the best protagonists of Florentine mixology available to the Molo.
