The editorial staff of ‘MilanNews.it’ interviewed the journalist from France Bleu Nord Charley Sylvain. During the question and answer we talked about Jonathan Davidcenter forward linked to the French club by a contract valid until 30 June 2025: “I don’t know if he will follow the same path as Osimhen, also because the Nigerian is another type of player, more spectacular. Osimhen is a striker who likes to make people talk a lot of himself, he has a lot of ego. I think Jonathan David is a player who operates more in the shadows, he is a striker who likes to let his teammates shine. Here, he is a striker who doesn’t necessarily need statistics to be happy. Jonathan David remains the club’s top scorer to this day but is sometimes capable of not scoring for several games. He reminds me a bit of Filippo Inzaghi, because he is a real fox in the penalty area and because we don’t often have memories of his spectacular goals he’s a player who finalizes the actions of his teammates. And then he’s a very good guy, who you can invest in with your eyes closed. He doesn’t cause controversy, he’s a team man. Well, maybe not being spectacular he won’t satisfy the palate of the managers Milan or other European clubs but if Paulo Fonseca moves it is possible that he wants him with him.”
Then in another passage he added: “I think he will leave this summer. His value on Transfermarkt is 50 million but Lille would be happy to be able to place him at 30-40. But given that he doesn’t have a very spectacular profile and today he only has a year left of contract if Lille managed to sell him for 20 million euros it would already be an excellent deal knowing that he arrived at the club in 2020 and that at the time he had cost more than 30 million euros, when he had cost 30 million euros, the largest transfer in the history of the club”.
