After the latest episodes of violence, such as the urban guerrilla warfare near the Cirio buildings, controversy erupts over the failure to convene a single-issue municipal council.
The Mondragone Attiva Movement is asking for it urgently. “Following the discussions we had with the Mayor, majority and minority councillors, the desire not to proceed with any call emerged on the part of the administration in office. We at Mondragone Attiva Movement, represented in the City Council by Marika Pero, continue on our path and strongly believe that all solutions to the issue must be taken in the City Council, where we can publicly discuss the strategies, to date – alas – essentially bankrupt. We intend the monothematic City Council as that place where the police forces and the highest authorities can come to explain publicly to the citizens and also to all the councillors, united and aligned on the same side (regardless of their affiliation!), the strategies that the invited authorities will want to explain why little or nothing has been done for our territory, with the bitter impression that we must remain immobile every time in the face of everything that happens around us. A moment, therefore, where the personal commitment of each of the actors involved can be shared with citizens, who should never take a secondary role in events concerning their rights”.
“As we have always done – he concludes – this time too we will propose all our appropriate solutions and we will do it in the way we deem most appropriate. We would like to underline, however, that for the umpteenth time we are astounded by the passive and never proactive position of those who have governed this city for decades. Although, on reflection, from someone who was not able to foresee emergencies or from someone who was never able to anticipate problems, how could we expect that he would be able to manage them?
