Rimini, 9 May 2024 – Criminal conspiracy aimed at trafficking of doping substances, including those with narcotic effects, importation from abroad of substances harmful to public health, and self-laundering. These are the accusations that led three people to prison while eight others were forced to report to the judicial police. The 11 personal precautionary measures were issued by investigating judge of Rimini at the request of the prosecutor’s office following investigations carried out by Nas who today implemented the measures.
Among those under investigation are professionals from the world of fitness (in particular body building) and nutrition, managers of gyms and commercial establishments specialized in food supplements.
They would be part of a structured organization with based in San Marino and with extensive international connections for the supply of active ingredients. The raw materials – mainly anabolic steroids, stimulants, anorectics and erectile dysfunction products – coming from China, arrived in Italy through Germany, in the form of powders, to then be assembled in clandestine laboratories by a small group of suppliers, for the production of mixes of doping products, which were particularly harmful to health. Once made, the final product was transferred to a warehouse in San Marino, to then be shipped, mostly through unsuspecting couriers, to distributed local vendors throughout the national territory.
