The Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Piacenza has elected a new president and a new vice-president. On May 2nd the board of directors elected Filippo Siciliano as section president and Andrea Gregori as vice-president; Gregorio Contini and Olimpia Di Luccio take over.
Siciliano is 34 years old, he is employed at the provincial school office; enrolled at UICI since childhood, he has a strong passion for sport; he practices fencing and showdown at a competitive level and has recently also approached blind tennis. His young age gives us hope for the future of UICI which, despite having a history spanning over a century, still appears capable of attracting fresh forces to continue promoting the rights of the blind and visually impaired and their ever-increasing inclusion in civil society.
