After Eni and Fs, the ASL closes the wells of another company in Santa Palomba: the drinking water of Pomezia and Ardea is at risk

After the case of the polluted wells serving the Eni depot and the FS storage center of Pomezia-Santa Palomba, it is now the turn of a third company, Torre Maggiore srl, also located in the municipality of Pomezia.

This very company had the water from its well shut down by the ASL Roma 6 last May 7th due to the presence, in the water for human drinking use extracted from the well itself, of chemical elements in excess of the maximum limits permitted by law. .

The company is located in via della Medicina n. 7. There are two chemical elements that greatly exceed the legal limits: Iron and Manganese.

The ASL Roma 6 ordered Torre Maggiore srl: “the immediate suspension-supply for human use of the aforementioned water until suitable correction treatment is restored. That is, elimination of any causes of non-compliance with consequent return of the chemical parameter to the norm.

Check the aforementioned water correction system and correct any anomalies found. Identification and immediate elimination of possible causes of non-compliance”.

“For this reason the ASL has requested – explains the ordinance of the ASL Roma 6 itself – the implementation of appropriate correction measures in order to bring the parameters back within the limits established by current legislation.

As well as communicating the outcome of the investigations carried out to the Food Hygiene and Nutrition Service of the Roma 6 ASL itself by sending a technical report signed by a qualified technician.

Report which must explain the causes that led to the non-compliance and the corrective measures adopted. As well as providing assistance for further sampling to be agreed at the point in question.”

Is the drinking water of Pomezia and Ardea at risk?

After the problems detected under Eni’s fuel storage center (to read the news, click here), also the subject of a recent parliamentary question.

After the recent and second case, in the same reference area, of the well attributable to the Mercitalia Logistics company in via della Zoologia n. 17, a company that is part of the FS Ferrovie dello Stato Italiano group. Now it is therefore the turn, unfortunately, of Torre Maggiore srl.

The thought (and concern) immediately runs to the risk that this pollution will spread like wildfire. To the point of involving/overwhelming the nearby Acea well field in Pomezia.

Whose wells (for drinking purposes) also serve the nearby and neighboring municipality of Ardea. The Acea well field is located in via della Pescarella.

The Acea well field currently serves a number of citizens of approximately 130 thousand units. A number that in the summer reaches almost 200 thousand users served.
