In the last few weeks i Carabinieri from the Palmi company carried out a series of checks on commercial activities aimed at combating environmental crimes.
In Delianuova the owner of a garage of approximately 100 square meters he was reported to the judicial authorities for unauthorized waste management. The entire workshop was seized. Totally absence of any sort of documentation certifying correct disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste or their consequent traceability, which, as established by the Environmental Code, it must be very rigorous.
To date, the destination of the chemical residues and waste produced by the aforementioned commercial activity is unknown, probably disposed of illicitly to the detriment of Aspromonte’s natural heritage. Sheet metal, iron bodywork parts but also more dangerous materials such as used oil, fuel residues, lead batteries and coolants may have been abandoned over the years in the surrounding naturalistic area with serious damage to the entire local ecosystemespecially for the animal world and for the same people, given the presence of important land cultivated and from renowned companies agriculturalAnd. The controls of the Carabinieri, always at the forefront in the protection of the environment and the natural landscape, will continue intense as the summer season approaches, a period in which, due to the greater influx of tourists, nature is more threatened and more vulnerable.
