In their interventions, the trade unionists reiterated the role played by interns in all the entities in which they have been serving for over 10 years now, integrated to the point that even the mayors and managers themselves consider them fundamental and indispensable for carrying out the activities and providing of services.
For this reason we can no longer talk about internships, but a definitive contractualization is needed that restores the dignity of a real and protected job to those who actually already do it. In recent months, thanks to the union initiatives of Nidil Cgil, Felsa Cisl, Uil Temp, Usb Fds, and the dialogue with the President of the Regional Council, the approval of regulatory exemptions for the hiring of interns from local authorities was achieved. But without adequate financial coverage the rule will essentially remain a dead letter. A risk that Nidil Cgil, Felsa Cisl, Uil Temp, Usb Fds immediately denounced publicly and in meetings at the regional technical table, and which they reiterated yesterday at Prefect of Catanzaro Enrico Ricci, so that it can fully bring the urgency of finding a definitive solution to the matter back to Roman levels, as has already been done in the past. In May and June it will be questioned in Parliament budget adjustmenta propitious moment, therefore, for the regulatory framework built up to now to be filled with economic contents that can make contractual arrangements possible and implementable by the competent administrations, indeed, extending them to all public administrations and recovering the excluded trainees.
Meanwhile, the trade unions are working on a meeting at the Ministry of Labour, looking for support in the national government in a positive synergy that calls for responsibility and participation at national, regional and local levels, so that everyone can make their contribution. Approximately 4,200 families, those of the interns, who currently support themselves also thanks to the 700 euro monthly subsidy of the projects expiring between next October and November, with the risk of a social emergency breaking out, even with unpleasant consequences for public order.
