In the opinion of Uil and UilFpl “the resources linked to the PNRR to make the healthcare system more efficient are completely insufficient, nor can they be used for current needs. A massive investment is needed to save healthcare and the entire rehabilitation and social care system.
The model of “Community Houses” identified by the PNRR and imagined by AGENAS certainly responds to the health needs of citizens, but these must be filled with content and specific professionalism, guaranteeing continuity of care between hospital and territory.
There shortages of doctors it is a widespread problem and even more so in a small, fragile region, especially from a demographic point of view.
The presence of Medical School it is an extraordinary opportunity, but it must be closely connected with the entire acute healthcare system, territorial medicine, research and technological innovation, helping to gradually transform the San Carlo from a level II DEA to a general hospital, while the Madonna delle Grazie Hospital in Matera which level I DEA will need to be strengthened.
The two hospitals will have to integrate with local medicine, the IRCCS CROB of Rionero and the 118 Emergency System and respectively become the hub of the two autonomous Provincial Health Authorities: that of Potenza and that of Matera.
