Only two days left until the end of the season season 2023/2024 Of B serieschampionship to which the Bologna women she participated as a newly promoted and managed to achieve the primary objective of the salvation with three rounds to spare. Bologna women, salvation goal achieved
As we were saying, Simone Bragantini’s girls (on the rossoblù bench since August 2022, among the protagonists of the historic promotion from C to B last year) were able to celebrate thearithmetic salvation with three days to spare. After suffering a heavy 4-1 defeat against Ternana (one of the big teams in the championship), the rossoblù reacted with character and took home two consecutive victories. The first in the Emilia-Romagna derby against a Ravenna already relegated, thanks to which the Bolognese consolidated eighth place in the standings, reaching 35 tiles (plus 20 from the relegation zone). The second against the Brescia on the last day of the championship, a success in a direct clash for eighth place which took them up to the top 38 points (touching the seventh position for a moment).
A season of ups and downs (with a revolutionized squad)
Although the primary aim was to maintain the place in the category, Bologna’s fluctuating performance forced the club to change the objective along the way. After a highly profitable summer transfer market, which brought top-level players under the two towers, including Chiara Ripamonti (quickly became captain), Greta Raggi, Nicole Da Canal, Sara Gradisek And Nicole Lauria, the club was convinced that it could also fight for the top of the table. The rossoblù, however, struggled to keep a constant pace, losing important points in decidedly accessible matches: they are 14 the total defeatsthe most emblematic of which is certainly the one suffered against Tavagnacco on the seventh day of the championship (when the Friulian team occupied the last place in the standings).
Old and new certainties
The victories I am 12to which they are added two draws. Thirteen total scorers. Among the most decisive players of the team, however, we certainly find Zala Kustrin And Martina Gelmetti, two pillars of the rossoblù attack. With his 1st goals, the Slovenian born in 1998 dragged her teammates especially in the first round. More in the shade, on the contrary, Valentina Colombo: last year the young rossoblù number 9 reached 13 goals for the season, while this year she stopped at 2 (also finding less space on the pitch).
As regards the defensive department, the enormous contribution given by should be underlined Greta Raggi and captain Chiara Ripamonti: having arrived in Bologna at the beginning of the season, both have carved out a fundamental space for themselves on the pitch, becoming two of Mr. Bragantini’s very first players. Also Alice Rossi, on loan from Sassuolo, has often completed the rossoblù defensive line since arriving in January. In midfield we must underline the great work of Nicole Da Canalwho unfortunately recently injured her cruciate, and the midfielder Benedetta De Biase, who like last year was a fundamental presence (even collecting 4 goals). Finally, in goal, the arrival at the beginning of the season of Nicole Lauria, creator of three clean sheets; The other two should be attributed to teammate Lucia Sassi, the permanent starter last year.
