“This time you succeeded.” Thieves in the Molfetta cemetery church
They entered the main chapel of the municipal cemetery in Molfetta, forcing the ancient door and taking away unquantified loot from an offertory box. Until now, the unknown persons or the single individual who became the protagonist of a theft, which occurred in the night between Tuesday and yesterday, do not have a face.

There is bewilderment and indignation in the municipality north of Bari over what was discovered last morning, namely the theft perpetrated inside the Molfetta cemetery: unknown persons, in fact, taking advantage of the fact that no one was there, ventured into inside the sacred place: they forced the entrance door and grabbed the coins left in the offering box, “a few tens of euros in total”, according to the first investigations and measurements carried out on site. They then left without leaving any apparent traces and are now wanted by the Carabinieri, who were entrusted with the investigation after the complaint was lodged at the barracks.

Obviously the gesture aroused disappointment in the local community and the first to report the incident and express all the anger at the raid that took place in the last few hours on Facebook was the young priest from Molfetta, Don Ignazio De Nichilo. «This time you succeeded», his comment. Last April 15, thieves tried to break in the access door and the priest himself reported the incident. Last night, they succeeded in their aim which unleashed a wave of indignant and negative comments about the incident, defining the act as sacrilegious and absolutely cowardly.

Extensive damage was done to the ancient entrance door, forced with a blunt object (the thieves were probably armed with burglary tools), completely removing the lock. Meanwhile, the soldiers of the Molfetta Army are working on the episode. All the video surveillance systems installed in the area are being examined in search of footage that may contain the identity of the thieves.
