From the match in Milan you come out as one of the best, you are clearly growing physically. How do you live this moment?
“With peace of mind, I am continuing to work as I always have. It’s part of the process and the path, I’m happy and we need to continue like this. I have always remained calm because I know that the work pays. I needed self-confidence and by working I regained it and I’m happy with how things are going“.

“It’s not about being mentally free, we feel the responsibility of making our fans happy. We haven’t set ourselves the points objective, for us the championship isn’t over yet. There are three games left and we want to score as many points as possible. How important was the coach in my growth? A lot, because last year we started a journey together and the whole team is growing also thanks to him, above all thanks to him. He is a good person who gives us a lot of trust and it is a pleasure to work with him“.
You are a defender but when you go forward with crosses you always get better: did you learn from your brother-in-law?
“I hope to make a few more assists (laughs, ed). I have always liked playing with the ball, I hope to continue helping the team. Sassuolo? A hungry opponent who will come here to try to take as many points as possible. Especially at home we care about winning“.
Is the coach asking you to take on more and more responsibility?
“We work a lot during the week to study the weaknesses of our opponents. The coach gave me confidence and said that when there was an opportunity I could push myself a little further. He was right and I hope to continue helping the team“.

“There is a lot of responsibility, a great chemistry has been created with the fans and everyone feels the duty to go the extra mile. It’s a group with a winning mentality, the matches in training seem like a championship match because no one wants to lose and we always push ourselves to give something more. Will it be easier with Gilardino next year? We all ask ourselves something more, we want to continue growing and the journey is just beginning. We must continue to work seriously and follow the coach as we have always done“.
