A few hours after the approval of the budget, Farmacom, there company 95% owned by the Municipality of Monzawhich manages the ten municipal pharmacies and the Farmasalus clinic in the Sant’Albino district, he made his numbers known which, once again, confirm his excellent state of health.
«Farmacom – observes the president of the board of directors Vito Potenza– it has been repeatedly defined by municipal administrations of different colors as the “family jewel” and also at a national level it is confirmed as one of the best performing public companies in the pharmacy management sector. A characteristic that goes against the trend of the specific market, with an almost unique organizational model, a “shared management” company between the Municipality and employee pharmacists».
Figures in hand, last year Farmacom had a total turnover of 12,400,051.42 eurosproducing a net profit of 462,535.69 euros. 95% of the latter sum is distributed into municipal coffers. The annual return on invested capital (Roe) for both the public shareholder and the participating pharmacists is equal to 15.05%, a figure that has consolidated over the years.
This percentage does not take into account the concession fees that Farmacom pays annually to the Municipality of Monza, bringing the total amount paid to the municipality, for the year 2023, to 735,000 euros. Citizens also demonstrate loyalty to the pharmacy network. Last year, over 500,000 people went to the pharmacies and clinics of Santalbina. More than 40,000 receipts were issued monthly and over 25,000 recipes were processed. There are more than 20,000 Fidelity Card holders. And there are new things in sight: this year with the purchase of the new property in Via Luca della Robbia and the relocation and modernization of pharmacy no. 6, 8 out of 10 “robotic” pharmacies will become.
