Countdown also in Legnano and in the Alto Milanese area for the Civil Weekthe event that has been staged for some years under the direction of Centro Servizi Volontariato, Corriere della Sera, Third Sector Forum and Milanese Community Foundations in collaboration with national Forums and CSVs to rto anticipate the world of volunteering and above all to promote itstimulating civic sense as a glue of communities.

Conceived in 2019 and left on standby until 2021 due to the pandemic, after a first online edition, Civil Week made its debut “in the flesh” in 2022 and is preparing for the third edition, which from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th May it will bring a range of events throughout the metropolitan city of Milan which will range from seminars to walks, including activities for the little ones.

A dozen appointments in the Legnano area. TO Cerro Maggiore Saturday 11 May from 4pm onwards is scheduled “People, families, communities. The Constitution is us”, a party where between themed games, clowns, magic, information stands and a journey in stages inspired by the articles of the Constitution “the associative experiences of families who share living in solidarity, who put themselves online to support one another in family life and educational tasks, which are open to reception and foster care, and of organizations that support families in difficulty and that operate in the educational field, giving life to the principles of solidarity, in subsidiarity, sanctioned by the Constitution”.

The events in Legnano will dominate the calendar of the “local” Civil Week. We start with the second edition of the photographic exhibition “Women and Motors? Joys and that’s it”«a contribution to combat the images that distort reality and to overcome the discriminatory culture» which sees «20 highly professional women portrayed on board the cars of the Fratelli Cozzi Museum», exhibited from Thursday 9th to Saturday 11th in the internal courtyard of the town hall (Thursday 9th and Saturday 10th from 8.30am to 7pm and Saturday 11th from 8.30am to 1.30pm) and at the Registry Office (Thursday 9th from 2.30pm to 6pm, Friday 10th from 8.30am to 12.30pm and Saturday 11th from 8.30am to 12.15pm).

Then there will be a meeting at the Istituto Dell’Acqua on Thursday 9th at 10am a meeting with the class representatives of the III and IV classes of some high schools in Legnano to raise awareness of the opportunities for active citizenship through testimonies of young volunteers and visual documentation. Also on Thursday 9th at 10am, the “We with you” route will begin at Robinson Park to embellish the benches and tables of the green area and «make them more user-friendly», which will also continue on Friday 10th at the same time. The program closes on Thursday the “Concert of Values” at 9pm at Cinema Ratti, a show that retraces Italian music and the great international successes of the 60s, 70s and 80s to «combine the pleasure of listening to songs with that of the ability to overcome the difficulties of loneliness, anguish of conflicts, of the collapse of values ​​with music.”

We start again on Friday 10th with theextraordinary opening of the Volunteer Help Desk at the House of Volunteering and the Third Sector from 2.30pm to 6.30pm and with the “Sapori in Strada” by the students of IAL Lombardia who from 4pm to 8pm at the IAL headquarters under the guidance of chef Federico Cannarozzo “will have the opportunity to delight citizens with a selection of fine foods, served in pure street food tradition”.

The last four appointments are scheduled for Saturday 11th. From 9.30 to 13.30 in the library garden are scheduled activities dedicated to biodiversity with a focus on flowers in the city and the fauna of the Castello Park lake, which will range from cuttings to children’s reading material via seed bombs. From 9.30 to 18.30, however, in via Luini there will be “Equal and equal”, an outdoor event with exhibitions of images, significant phrases, photos and paintings on equal opportunities of gender «highlighting stereotypes and rights with installations based on the common thread of the Constitution to protect women».

Again, Palazzo Leone da Perego will be the setting from 10.30 to 12 “NonGrandchildren (or…GeniChildren)”, an initiative thanks to which, with the help of a theater entertainer, grandparents will tell stories about the city to their grandchildren, «an intergenerational artistic game to get to know the area, to respect and appreciate it and to get to know each other». Last item on the billboard “A healthy and robust Constitution” from 2.30pm to 6.30pm at the former ILA Park, a party open to all citizens with dances, musical performances and gazebos of the organizations that will take part in the day, including «testimonies of the life of the constituent women, theatrical performances on diversity, parade of traditional costumes of the peoples of Babel, life stories on integration, music as an expressive moment of cultural peculiarities and ethnic dances”.

TO Parabiagofinally, on Friday 10 May the appointment is with the presentation of the 16th edition of the Donne In•Canto festival, a festival focused on the “enchantment of the female voice” which this year will be dedicated to Josephine Baker and Nina Simone and will have the actress Sarah Maestri as Godmother. At the end of the event there will be a performance by the Piedmontese singer-songwriter Maria Olivero.
