Arezzo, goodbye project. Sensational separation with the general director Giovannini

Despite signing a 10-year contract earlier this season, Paolo Giovannini he is no longer the general manager of SS Arezzo. 59 years old, who arrived in Amaranth in June 2022, built the team that won Serie D last year and reached the Serie C playoffs this year. Formerly Castelnuovo Garfagnana, Massese, Lucchese, Pistoiese and Pontedera, Giovannini was also board member of the amaranth club, a position that will presumably disappear in the next few days. It was now clear that the picture had changed compared to a few months ago. Today the joint statement of the parties brings to light a crystallized fracture but does not explain the reasons for it separation. Here is the text.

After two years of an extraordinary journey together, SS Arezzo and Paolo Giovannini have decided, as mutually agreed, to terminate the employment relationship starting today. The decision, consensualfollows the common acknowledgment that the company needs a different organization to pursue the declared sporting and corporate objectives.

“Paolo Giovannini, who I strongly wanted, contributed to the construction of an organized club that achieved sporting results while respecting economic budgets, and for this we thank him,” declared the president William Manzo.

“I thank the president Manzo and the administrator Selvaggio for the opportunity granted to me and for making me work in complete autonomy in these two years, in which I gave everything to Arezzo and received a lot – continued Paolo Giovannini. As an old saying goes, it doesn’t matter what you find at the end of a race, the important thing is what you feel while you’re running: as far as I’m concerned, I tried extraordinary emotions, for this I thank the club, the collaborators, the fans, including the supporters of Orgoglio Amaranto, who have always been close to the club in a constructive way, who have always made me feel important. Now the paths are separating but the fans can rest assured: this ownership will give the Cavallino a future solid and ambitiousas this square deserves.”
