“The May of books” also invades Foligno

If you read you will free yourself. This is the name of the program of initiatives proposed in Foligno on the occasion of “May of books”, an event which falls in the month dedicated to the promotion of reading. The event started last May 2nd with the appointment of shared readings “Ad Alta Voce” of passages by the famous writer Alberto Moravia. But there are still many other events planned for the next few days, organized by the “Dante Alighieri” municipal library and Coopculture. An initiative aimed at the most varied audiences, which will touch on numerous themes.
Scheduled for Thursday 9th May at 4.30pm “Here comes May… Rites, cults and traditions of May in Umbria”, a conference by professor Ivo Picchiarelli which will take place in the Camino room of Palazzo Deli.
“Words in flight – What is a teenager?” is scheduled for Saturday 11 May at 10.30 am. a moment dedicated to parents and children, aged between 10 and 13, of readings and a creative writing workshop organized by the Armonia Cosmica association at the Ragazzi library.
Scheduled for Tuesday 14 May at 5pm is the “Art Therapy Laboratory – Let’s discover ourselves beautiful: happiness” in the Camino room of Palazzo Deli, a workshop curated by the art therapist Pietro Ricci during which the interactive catalog “De profundis” will be illustrated .
Scheduled for May 17th at 4.30pm at the children’s library “A book in a suitcase”, readings and creative workshops led by the character “L’ape Tulì”, for children aged 3 to 6 years.
On May 22, appointment with “Manzoni On Air in the library”, an event that will take place throughout Italy, on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the death of Alessandro Manzoni, when the words of the “Betrothed” will resonate through the voice of Paolo Poli. The municipal library of Foligno will also participate in the initiative, which from 3pm to 7pm will broadcast short “snippets” taken from the work and read by Paolo Poli in the spaces on the ground floor of the library.
The program of initiatives will then continue on the afternoon of Friday 24 May at 4.30 pm at the Ragazzi library with “Open books – Illustrated books. What is the secret of their success? History, characteristics, reading paths to discover it together” edited by Linda Rebecchini, Edizioni Corsare for teachers of primary and lower secondary schools.
The initiative “Born to read to chase stories” dedicated to children aged 0 to 3 is scheduled for Saturday 25 May at 10.30, which will take place at the Ragazzi library. On the same day at 6 pm, in the Camino room of the Ragazzi library, the presentation of the book “La tigna” and the meeting with the author Roberto Contu will take place.
On the occasion of the Colfiorito Woods Festival on May 28th in the green area of ​​Molinaccio, the volunteers of the Nati per Leggere Umbria association in collaboration with the municipal library of Foligno will read aloud some readings for pre-school children.
Finally, on Friday 31 May at 4.30 pm there will be “Open Books – Fiction. How do you learn to love reading? Strategies, paths, experiences compared” by Linda Rebecchini, Edizioni Corsare for teachers of primary and lower secondary schools at the Ragazzi library.
