A few days ago we talked about the young candidate present in two different facsimiles, in the electoral campaign for the local elections of Castelvetrano on 8 and 9 June (here is the article).
A change of shirt even before being elected, certified and publicized by two different electoral saints with the photo of the same person but on different lists in support of opposing mayoral candidates. In short, the before and after. We would have expected a reply, but no note was sent to our editorial staff. Of course, readers’ reactions to our article were different. Some even took it out on journalists: they shouldn’t have written about it, because the problems are different.
But why did the young candidate change his list and side? He didn’t feel comfortable. This is how he “explained” his choice of him in a video interview with Castelvetranonews. And after the discomfort and a brief “pause for reflection”, the meeting with Salvino Gancitano who proposes to run with his list. So from Castelvetrano Rinasce in support of the mayoral candidate Giovanni Lentini, he moves to La Svolta, in support of Salvino Gancitano.
But the question, as they say, can only arise spontaneously: why didn’t you feel at ease in the first list? We don’t know. She doesn’t say it. She personal choices, private things. It’s a shame that that wasn’t the choice of a pub to spend an evening in, but a city administration project.
The reasons behind this preventive change of shirt would therefore have deserved a detailed, in-depth explanation. But perhaps his young age didn’t play much in his favor.
This is why, in the same video interview, Giovanni Impallari, an expert in politics, intervenes, presented as the mentor of La Svolta of the mayoral candidate Gancitano.
Impallari “explains” that these things have always happened, that it is not his style to publicize these things because he considers them extremely personal. And you tell of a candidate who had already given her availability to run with Salvino Gancitano, but after a while she said that she did not find herself in that candidacy. “I replied ok, you are free to do whatever you want – says Impallari – I have not created any situation on the web to denigrate or delegitimize, in the face of what may be a personal choice”.
Then his thoughts go to those who had taken the liberty of spreading the photo of the double facsimile on social media: “I think the creator of this situation is a political homunculus, a person who lives on these little things”.
And when the journalist, rightly, points out that the same thing would probably have happened to that candidate he was talking about if he had made the facsimiles, Impallari responds like this: “Beyond the facsimiles, the word is enough. When you give availability to a person, it’s that person and that’s it. It’s not that you need to do facsimiles to say I’m with you or I’m not with you”.
