This morning HE Monsignor Santo Marcianò, Military Ordinary for Italy, arrived to visit Avellino.
Upon his arrival at the “Litto Barracks”, the high prelate was received by the Provincial Commander, Colonel Domenico Albanese, before meeting a representation of all the Army departments operating in the province, the personnel on leave from the National Association Carabinieri and the National Forestry Association, as well as the staff of professional trade union associations among the military.
During the meeting, the Archbishop expressed words of appreciation for the daily and tireless commitment of the soldiers of the Benemerita to guarantee, in every corner of the country, civil coexistence in compliance with the rules, the result of commitment and closeness to the Italian people who since its origins have characterized the presence of the Carabinieri in the area, also bringing solidarity and comfort to the soldiers and their families.
In his touching speech, the Military Ordinary recalled the importance that the family has in today’s society and in particular how fundamental it is for a Carabiniere who, daily affected by the critical issues emerging from today’s world, can only find the necessary serenity in his loved ones and in the Lord. Another topic that he addressed was that of the Spirit of Corps, a feeling of solidarity, camaraderie and collaboration that must unite the members of the force, linked by the same activity and even more so by the same ideals of justice and rectitude.
The morning program of HE Mons. Santo Marcianò subsequently continued, with the celebration of the Holy Mass for the soldiers of Campania, at the abbey church of Montevergine.
