Malusa Kosgran’s “comics” at the “Prendi Luna Circus” bookshop

Fresh off the press and back from the Turin International Book Fair, the new novel for girls and boys by Malusa Kosgran from Bisceglie arrives in Bisceglie.
Friday 17 May 2024 at 7pm the children’s bookshop Take Luna Circus located in via Tupputi 21 in Bisceglie is happy to host Malusa Kosgran who presents “The Island of Animals” (published by Sabir Editore) in the company of two very young readers: Elena and Maria. Free admission.
The protagonist of “The Island of Animals” is called Arturo Pace and is a 14 year old boy
introverted and special who uses comics to understand and transform reality. In the fiction, Arturo draws the episodes of the graphic novel which alternate with the literary chapters contained in Kosgran’s novel: each comic page tells what happens on the island on which Arturo lives, the dreams, the desires, the fears. The protagonists of his plots are his relatives, his schoolmates, the real people who live on his island: the ice cream seller, the greengrocer, the school principal, his parents. And Stella Errera, the 15-year-old girl that Arturo considers unattainable. Malusa Kosgran is the author of various short stories and novels (“Banks of fog”, “Not even a word of love”, “The first woman”, “While waiting for the others we transmit dance music”), also purely for children (“14 ”, “Mariuccio”).
