A new appointment awaits curious and visitors Sunday 12 Maystarting from 11 o’clockat “Rodolfo Lanciani” Civic Archaeological Museum of Guidonia Montecelio with the exhibition “In the shade of the thousand-year-old olive trees” Of Leonardo De Cesaris.

The exhibition consists of a photographic journey of 15 exhibition panels dedicated to thousand-year-old olive trees Of Luras in Sardinia, of San Emiliano in Umbria, ofOlivone to Palombara Sabina and the centenarians of via Pomata in Tivoli. In a previous exhibition De Cesaris was interested in the representation of trees in urban contexts.

In the project exhibited at the Lanciani Museum, the photographer focuses on the most fascinating characteristics of the thousand-year-old and centenary Italian olive trees, also turning his gaze to the territory of Roman Sabina and the Tiburtino-Cornicolano countryside. The knots tell of the movement of the roots underground and the large stems look like large sculptures of unique landscapes.

Inauguration of the exhibition Sunday 12 May at 11 o’clock with institutional greetings from the Councilor for Culture and Public Education, Claudio Zarro and introduction by the Scientific Director of the Lanciani Museum, Dr. Zaccaria Mari. The photographer and creator of the exhibition will then speak, Leonardo De Cesaris.

The exhibition, ad Free admissionwill be open to visitors until May 31, 2024 during the opening hours of the Lanciani Museum or during extraordinary openings communicated through the social pages. Please note that the Museum is regularly open with free access on Saturday and the Sunday from 10am to 6pm and that, during opening hours, it is possible to visit the exhibitions currently on the upper floor.

Guided tours of the museum tour are always available at a cost of 5 euros per person (3 euros for minors).
