L’AQUILA – On the occasion of World Earth Day announced by the UN to celebrate the Earth and the protection of the planet, New Acropolis L’Aquila invites citizens Saturday 11 May, from 3.00pm to 8.00pm, to an afternoon of games, reflections and insights at the Castle Park, in front of the Auditorium.
This year’s theme: “Towards unity through diversity” wants to highlight how diversity in nature is a source of growth, and that being able to combine differences to achieve a common good is a challenge that human beings can also overcome, learning from the planet.
The program includes, starting from 3.00 pm, games ecological themed for children, with a skill challenge in the creative recycling of small objects that would otherwise be thrown away.
At 4.00 pm and 6.30 pm the traditional performance “braid dance” dedicated to the Earth and the raising of one hot air balloon of paper, made and decorated by volunteers.
From 4.30 pm the volunteers of New Acropolis invite citizens to join them for an intervention of ecological cleaning of the green areas of the Castle.
The day ends at 7:00 pm historical-naturalistic walk to discover the wonders of the Park and the sixteenth-century Castle.
Furthermore, during the event, Nuova Acropoli proposes the show: “The myths of Gaea”, a path to understand how different peoples and civilizations have loved and respected the Earth, considering it a be alive and generous.
