“Truck entrance gates blocked”

The strike of the workers of the Astercoop cooperative employed in the Coop Alleanza 3.0 warehouse in Pievesestina di Cesena, organized with the ADL Cobas and SGB unions, has been underway since 5 this morning. “At this moment – we read in a note – the truck access gates are blocked. The workers are demanding trade union rights which continue to be denied by the cooperative and the renewal of the company contract which expired in December 2023. The current conditions, strongly contested by the workers in recent years, provide that the first 3 days of illness are not paid, paid leave and Rol are not recognised, some increases provided for by the relevant CCNL are not applied. The workers of Astercoop forcefully ask for “equal work, equal conditions” to ask that there are no worse conditions for those who are employees of a cooperative. The strike will continue throughout the day until there are signs from the company that the requests made are accepted and the workers declare that in the absence of responses the strike will continue in the next few days”.
