The red and white youth teams are bittersweet, the Under 18s host Reggio Emilia

Today, Wednesday, at 5pm at De Benedetti, Piacenza’s U18s host Reggio Emilia to defend their unbeaten record and above all their lead in the standings. The victories against Crocetta and Oltretorrente have given us a crackling start to the championship and now comes the delicate task of confirming that Reggio seems to be an within reach opponent even if at a youth level nothing is ever taken for granted. Unfortunately, not good news arrived over the weekend from the other teams. The U14 team returned empty-handed from Parma where they suffered a 15-4 defeat on the Crocetta diamond. The home team’s superiority proved to be clear and Piacenza’s sporadic goals were not enough to change the momentum of the match. The red and whites fielded: Rosario, Agosti, Riviera, Pardi, Bertonazzi, Mendoza, Bertolotti (Reinoso), Ferrari. Things didn’t go any better for the little ones in minibaseball in Langhirano in the opening round of the championship. For everyone it was an absolute debut and the 16-14 immediately must however be accepted with confidence in the future. Moreover, the mini championship, at the limit of 8 years, is to be interpreted from a purely recreational perspective and preparatory to what could be a real competitive proposal.
