three days between greenery and flowers

Bologna, 7 May 2024 – Market, culture and attention to solidarity exhibition: this is the 29th event of ‘Spring Gardens & Terraces‘, much awaited and frequented not only by the people of Bologna. The event that will take place at Margherita Gardens Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May (free entry, from 10am to 8pm), will welcome 240 exhibitors from all over Italy, including producers of plants and flowers, furniture and gardening equipment, clothing, crafts, vintage, wellness and local products.

“It is an important appointment – ​​specifies Giancarlo Tonelli, general director of Confcommercio Ascom Bologna which supports the event – ​​which over the years has led to the growth the desire for beauty and also to create green spaces at home.”

Without a doubt Giardini e Terrazzi, thanks to the curators and organizers Oddone Sangiorgi and Jacob Kovo, has become a important moment of green referencebut it must be acknowledged that the choice fell on the exhibitors has always been careful, this year there are some left 83 on the waiting listbecause the desire to participate is great, but the space granted remains the same.

“Alongside the merchandise part – states Sangiorgi – various Bolognese institutions participate, this to demonstrate how our initiative embraces the city, especially in the context of solidarity such as the presence of the Re – Use market in the Baraccano headquarters”.

The program and appointments

On Friday at 11am and 5.30pm the Malvasia Club will offer meetings with western flower decorating lessons which will also continue on Saturday afternoon. On Saturday at 9am, a training seminar ‘Orma verde’ will take place at Palazzina Liberty, on how the media should transmit information on eco-sustainability, organized by the Order of Journalists, the Foundation of Journalists of Emilia-Romagna and the Inner Wheel Club.

Among the many events, the walk is also worth mentioning en plein air with costumes of the 19th century and the Argentine tango lessons. On Sunday at 10.30 at the Palazzina Liberty Inner Wheel organized two conferences: one by Prof Anna Alfano on ‘Precious and irreplaceable plants, allies of man’ and the other by Inner Wheel president Marilena Lelli on ‘Plants and flowers in art‘; other events of the Malvasia Club will follow and a conference by Roberto Malagoli on ‘Flowers and plants when we go on holiday’.
