“In Comune con Mascarin” is the first centre-left list to present candidates. There will be no outgoing councilor Carla Luzi (in 2019 she won 218 votes) according to whom “ten years in the city council were enough to sow. What matters is not the individual person, but the common thought”. “A list – explained Samuele Mascarin – made up of 13 women and 11 men, which combines the experience of democratic and left-wing municipalism with the passion and civil commitment that have characterized the long mobilization to which many of us have given life in these months”.
At yesterday’s meeting, at the Uccellin Bel Verde, the centre-left mayoral candidate Cristian Fanesi was also present and confirmed, in the event of victory, Mascarin’s presence in the future council. The exponent of In Comune, who lost the primaries by just three votes, superstitiously recalled that the centre-left’s first objective is to get the mayor elected. And Mascarin again: “We are starting a new political cycle as a valid alternative to the right-wing drift, made of fear and selfishness, which calls into question the terms of civil and democratic life in the country. We want to offer a valid opportunity for political commitment and electoral choice to citizens who place themselves as a clearer alternative to racism, xenophobia, populism and the resurgences of fascism of the new right”.
Mascarin claimed the results achieved in recent years by the centre-left government, starting from educational services up to the 140 million invested in the city. Mascarin and Fanesi ensured that the different approaches on delicate topics, such as the future of Aset and the road to Gimarra, will find a synthesis in the program, which will be presented shortly. Simone Uguccioni, spokesperson for In Comune, underlined the continuity of the list’s experience, while the lawyer Alessia Di Girolamo focused on competence as an indispensable element to help and support the weak and fragile.
