The “Μου&Μουσ” concert season continues

The “Μου&Μουσ” concert season continues with appointments at the Cattolica di Stilo and Palazzo Arnone

The first concert season “Μου&Μουσ”, conceived by the Lametina cultural association Animula and promoted by the Calabria Regional Museums Directorate directed by Filippo Demma, continues with public success, among the most significant cultural sites of the Calabrian museum heritage.

The sixth appointment took place at the Cattolica di Stilo with the show entitled “Dei tue bei rai…” which pleasantly involved those present with the guitar performances of Claudio Fittante and the refined repertoire for guitar and soprano duo, with original pieces for this training, in which it was possible to enjoy the virtuosity and warm and enveloping voice of the soprano Giovanna Massara.

In addition to the program presented which contained pieces by Ferdinando Carulli, Mauro Giuliani and Anton Diabelli, what most caught the attention was the presentation of the historical context of reference of the program, the nineteenth century, performed with original instruments, a guitar by an anonymous luthier from the first half from the 19th century and a French lyre-guitar from the first decade of the same century.

In the last weekend of April, the exhibition also stopped at Palazzo Arnone, home of the National Gallery of Cosenza directed by Rossana Baccari, with the music presented by the Vocal and Instrumental Academy composed of Maddalena Cefalì (flute), Giovanna Massara ( soprano), Claudio Fittante and Fabio Sirianni (historical guitars), in the concert entitled “Musica al Tempo del Regno delle due Sicilie”.

The concert form used, the Academy, reproduced one of the ways in which in the 19th century people enjoyed pleasant entertainment in the salons where enthusiasts gathered to listen to music performed by both good amateurs and celebrities who did not disdain taking part at all.

In this type of banquet, the particular Italian passion for singing and opera meant that it was above all vocal music.

All the great Italian opera artists of that era wrote collections of romances, melodies and songs intended for the living room in which adaptations of the most famous opera arias were often also presented.

The program featured pieces by Carulli, Giuliani, Beethoven, Méhul.
