POZZUOLI – The seismic swarm gives no respite to the Campi Flegrei
New powerful shock recorded at 5.53 am on 05/07/2024 followed by another event at 5.57 am
The resentment was widespread throughout the area.

The shock was cataloged with a preliminary magnitude of 2.9 +/-;0.3, depth of 1.4 km and epicenter on the eastern edge of the Solfatara as per the red star in the image (the one at 5.57, preliminary magnitude of 2.0)

Gigi Manzoni mayor of Pozzuoli: The Vesuvian Observatory has informed us that starting from 00.11 on 07.05.2024 a sequence of seismic events is underway in the Campi Flegrei area.
It is understandable that this intense swarm can generate concern and anxiety. However, I want to reassure you and let you know that we have not recorded any damage.
Many are writing to us about the closure of schools, let us remember that these are the safest places and controlled by our municipal technicians with maximum synergy with the school directors.
