BOLZANO – The provincial government of Bolzano has approved a Pnrr project which aims to reduce barriers in the use of digital services and in the workplace. The president of the Province, Arno Kompatscher, was authorized to sign the “Citizen Inclusion” project which will be financed with 684,000 euros and will be implemented by the end of 2025.

The main element of the project, which aims to break down digital barriers for people with disabilities, lies in raising awareness of barriers in the digital world: a large-scale course program for people with disabilities, managers, decision makers, employees of the provincial administration, municipalities and other public bodies and IT experts.

“Everyone needs to be aware that for people with disabilities there are barriers not only in the real world, but also in the digital one: these are visual barriers, rather than physical ones. For example, we talk about simple language and readability, color combinations , characters,” Kompatscher explained.
The IT Department is responsible for the courses, while the Personal Development offices of the Province and the Consortium of Municipalities will organize them.
