«The job I would like? The one that makes me get excited.” This is how he describes the work of desires one of the 1200 students, recent graduates, doctoral students and postdocs at the University of Florence who participated in Career Day 2024, the job fair organized every year by the University of Florence.
At the Morgagni Campus we met young people who are still studying or have just graduated and are looking for a job and companies looking for workers. To attend an interview aimed at an internship or a job – three hundred open positions – Applications were received from all disciplinary areas of the Florentine University: humanities and education, economics and social sciences, scientific, technological and biomedical.
The 80 companies that participated range from transport to luxury fashion, from insurance to new technologies to large-scale retail trade. They are looking for cybersecurity consultants, pharmacists, sales staff, quality control analysts. Among the most sought-after figures are engineers, in every sector, from mechanical to biomedical to electronics, including Artificial Intelligence experts.
About half of the aparticipating companies organized a seminar to introduce themselves to students and promote the opportunities offered at the event.
The Career Day opened with a greeting from the rector Alessandra Petrucci, the participation of the vice-rector for technology transfer Marco Pierini and the placement delegate Francesco Grasso.
