Bad weather, whirlwind off the coast between Capodistria and Muggia

MUGGIA A whirlwind formed at sea, off the coast between Capodistria and Muggia, in the early afternoon today, Tuesday 7 May, without damage to people or things.

Neither the Port Authority nor the Fire Brigade had to intervene in relation to the event.

Arpa explains how the phenomenon, not at all rare, is derived from the marked instability that is affecting our sea in these hours.

The depression present today in much of Italy brings humid currents from the South into the Gulf of Trieste: with these weather conditions, whirlwinds can form offshore several times a year, which in most cases end up in the sea .

Forecasts

Osmer Fvg also explains that the wave of bad weather has been improving since the evening.

Tomorrow some showers or thunderstorms will be possible on the coast. From Wednesday evening the bora will lift, with some gusts up to 70-80 km per hour, which will soon make the situation more stable.

Pleasant average temperatures are expected on Thursday and Friday, with highs around 24-25 degrees.
