VITERBO – While the city comes back to life, with the reopening of the gates that had delimited the “red zone”, the bomb has recently reached Monte Romano where the soldiers of the local army barracks and shooting range are waiting for it to take delivery of it .
Along the way, men from the Carabinieri and police, who allowed a peaceful passage for “Lady Rose”, as the 2000 kilogram bomb was renamed in honor of the protector of Viterbo, who seems to have once again averted the danger by saving the city.
Work on the second phase will now begin, all of which will take place at the Monte Romano military range. Here the bomb will be emptied of its approximately 1300 kilograms of explosives using jets of boiling water. An action that will once again be left in the wise hands of the bomb squad and which will last, according to forecasts, at least three hours.
At the end there will be no explosion of the device, as the explosive material will be rendered completely defenseless.
