The need for an increasingly incisive and effective prevention and combating action on drugs, made unavoidable by the discovery in the province of a dose of narcotic substance containing traces of Fentanyl, was the subject of specific investigations this morning in the Prefecture as part of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security in which, in addition to the provincial leaders of the Police Force, the Public Prosecutor Raffaele Cantone also took part. This is what the Prefecture of Perugia has announced. The meeting – we read in a note – follows the activation of the national prevention plan against the improper use of Fentanyl and other synthetic opioids, or the level 3 alert issued by the Ministry of Health in view of the increase in threshold of attention in all potentially exposed sectors, also through the essential awareness of citizens, and especially the young population, on the dangerousness of the substance.
To this end, during the meeting the solutions deemed most suitable for the necessary strengthening, in an inter-force perspective, of the territorial control activity were appropriately examined, to be achieved in particular through a timely and timely information-operational connection, a prerequisite indispensable for increasingly penetrating monitoring of sites and areas of specific investigative interest. Maximum impetus – we read further – from this perspective, will be given to the analysis of narcotic substances found/seized in the area, which will be sent for this purpose to the specialized laboratories of the Scientific Police and the local provincial command of the Carabinieri. .
Finally, convergent assessments were expressed by the participants in the meeting regarding the importance of immediately referring to the competent authorities of every element of possible importance for the development of targeted investigation activities, to safeguard one’s own health and that of the community. The progress of the measures arranged will be subject to constant monitoring – it is guaranteed – by the Committee.
