Parma, 7 May 2024 – Giving value to the agri-food chain is essential not only to guarantee income to companies, from field to table, but also to further improve the contribution that the entire sector gives to the Italian economy in terms of GDP and exports. Generational turnover and the increase in the number of young company heads is a qualifying process that must be supported by following virtuous growth models.

This is what emerged today at Cibus, the international agri-food exhibition which opened in Parma, in the meeting dedicated to financial solutions for agricultural businesses, organized by Confagricoltura And Crédit Agricole Italiawith a particular focus on businesses run by young people under 40.

The protagonists are the general director of Confagricoltura Annamaria Barrilethe national president of Young Farmers – ANGA Giovanni Gioia, with Vittorio Ratto, deputy general manager of Retail and Digital of Crédit Agricole Italia, e Marco Perocchihead of Corporate Banking at Crédit Agricole Italia.

During the debate, the credit instruments from which operators in the agri-food supply chain can benefit and the initiatives to enhance the supply chain of agricultural products were explored in depth.

Farms run by under 40s in Italy represent 9% of the total, but their businesses perform better in terms of average size, profitability and approach to new technologies and digitalisation. A high starting standard which represents a value that has repercussions on the entire transformation and distribution chain. An element on which Crédit Agricole Italia is working for the benefit of all companies in the sector.
