The Cremona Hospital will soon have a high-field MRI (3 Tesla) which will allow very high resolution images for even more precise diagnoses, especially in the neurological field. An important and decidedly positive piece of news, which concretizes the strategic management’s intent to invest in technology to improve the quality of performance and increase the attractiveness of the structure.
The work to adapt the premises for the installation of the equipment will begin on May 27 and will continue for five weeks, a minimum time. In this period of time, the MRI exams scheduled in Cremona will be carried out at the Oglio Po Hospital. Users will be contacted and informed by telephone by the operators of the Cremona Asst: their booking will be guaranteed possibly on the same day, but in the Casalmaggiore headquarters. The reports, however, can be collected both in Cremona and in Oglio Po.
We are aware that the change of location may represent an inconvenience and for this we apologize, even if the construction site will remain open for the minimum time necessary and users will be offered the alternative solution.
An MRI remains in operation at the Cremona Hospital to guarantee all emergencies and services for fragile patients and hospitalized people.

THE NEW MAGNETIC RESONANCE WILL MAKE THE DIFFERENCE
The enhanced equipment brings a notable diagnostic advantage: “by increasing the magnetic field to 3 Tesla, the quality of the images clearly increases”, explains Claudia Ambrosi, director of Neuroradiology in Cremona. «This will allow us to acquire more detailed neuroradiological scans with greater spatial resolution. We will have a diagnostic improvement, especially for functional techniques, aimed at operative planning for neurosurgery interventions, where reliable brain “mappings” are necessary. More performing instrumentation also allows for reduction of acquisition times, to the benefit of the patient’s well-being, especially in the case of children, bedridden, neurological or non-cooperating patients.».
