Reggio Calabria, “Doctors Without Borders” stops at the GOM

The Great Metropolitan Hospital “Bianchi – Melacrino – Morelli” in Reggio Calabria will host the operators of Doctors Without Borders until 8 May on the occasion of the awareness campaign launched by the independent medical-humanitarian organization which has been providing humanitarian relief for over 50 years to populations whose survival is threatened by wars, epidemics, malnutrition or natural disasters, not only in Italy, but in over 70 countries around the world.

The awareness campaign, which takes place at the main entrance of the “Riuniti” garrison, aims to raise awareness of the association’s initiatives, through the presence of a delegation of MSF collaborators.

Founded in 1971 thanks to the commitment of a group of French doctors and journalists, Doctors Without Borders guarantees medical aid wherever it is needed, ensuring its presence in the heart of conflicts, epidemics and natural disasters.

In 1999 Doctors Without Borders was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in recognition of “pioneering humanitarian work carried out on various continents”.
