Today comes the news that Chinese Xiaomi has taken a step back regarding the choice to call his car Modena. The manufacturer’s decision was communicated to Mimit.
Xiaomi’s backtracking
The Ministry, in a note, explained the reasons of the Chinese company: “The company has assured that it intends to comply with Italian rules on false indications, including the Geographical Indications Regulation. Communication and marketing campaigns that could mislead consumers will not be promoted. Mimit informed the company what the current legislation is to protect consumers and national producers.”
