The strange story was discovered by the real soldiers of the Army Acireale, who reported a 55-year-old local man. The accusation is that of “illicit possession of distinctive signs, marks or identification documents used by the police forces”, and of “usurpation of titles or honours”.

Acireale, the fake carabinieri was operating at the traffic lights: the reconstruction
As explained by the police, in the last few hours some motorists they called the barracks. The report was always the same: while they were stopped at the traffic lights in the avenue Christopher Columbus (Acireale), they had been approached by a man on a scooter. This, after showing off a metal plaque depicting the flame of the Meritorious, had ordered them to perform the documents driving.

The investigations to understand how the man came into possession of that material are still ongoing, in the meantime, however, everything has been seized and the 55-year-old was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office Catania.
