From 9 to 12 May the Piazza dei Sapori returns to promote traditional Venetian and Italian products: the event will take place between Piazza Bra and Via Roma.

Now in its XXII edition, the Flavor Squares it will be entirely dedicated to Made in Italy, but with an international scope, with the joint promotion of products and territories of origin by over 60 participating companies with Spain as a special guest.

Piazze dei Sapori returns to Verona from 9 May, an event dedicated to sustainability with a rich program of events and activities for adults and children.

Via Roma is confirmed area dedicated to social issuesto enhance what the many associations that operate on a non-profit basis to support the weakest do for Verona.

The new one awaits the numerous visitors in Piazza Bra dynamic area “Lounge Teatro Ghiotto”, designed to enjoy, learn, have fun and be together. A new feature active every day from 10am to 10pm, with an event scheduled every 45 minutes. From show cooking, to the presentation of books, to in-depth moments with masterclasses and ending with activities dedicated to families and children.

The other news of the XXII Edition is the return of the European country, Spain, which will be present at the “Promo territories”, the area of ​​representation of the territories, which will see, after a 2-year stoppage, the presence of a European country represented by two traditional products: churros and sangria. A zero impact event, thanks to the commitment of Confesercenti, to make the program attractive and at the same time attentive to the environment: bio-compostable tableware, clean energy from renewable sources, the use of public water and the reduction of of architectural barriers.

Venetian and Italian excellence in the squares

The event was presented by the Councilor for Commerce of the Municipality of Verona, by the President of AMIA, together with the President and General Director of Confesercenti and numerous representatives of local bodies and associations.

More than 60 companies of the Italian gastronomic tradition, carefully selected from hundreds of companies in the sector, they will offer the best of their productions, accompanied by collateral events open to the public in collaboration with organisations, institutions, associations and companies.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for Thursday 9 May at 5.30 pm in Piazza Bra. With Verona and its province also involved are Vicenza, Venice-Mestre, Lake Garda, Milan, Bari, Scarparia del Mugello, Nuremberg, London, Istanbul, Budapest, Katakolon, Izmir, Dubrovnik, Nimes and Krakow.

Piazza dei Sapori: typical Veronese and non-Veronese products

In the center of Verona the typical products and the most sought after food and wine productions in Italy. The most famous squares of the city are colored with carefully selected exhibitors and retailers, representing the flavor of all the Italian regions.

Dop, Docg, Doc products, but also particularities unknown to the general public which thus reawaken forgotten tastes.

Furthermore, to remain in the promotion of Veroneseness, it has been included in the official brochure a dedicated section, containing the indication, also geolocalised, of the restaurants that have been awarded the “Typical Verona restaurant” plaque and which will offer a themed menu for the period. Also present are the 269 “historic shops” of Verona, to enhance all the excellence and activities that keep the culture and traditions of the city high.
