A dialogue for a “path of liberation and inclusion”.
Teresa Forcades, born in Barcelona, Benedictine nun in the Monserrat monastery in Catalonia, theologian, doctor, social activist, founder of the political movement Process constituent in Catalunya, will be in Ragusa on May 10th.
Author of numerous books (“We are all different! For a queer theology”, “Feminist theology in history. The role of women and the right to female self-determination. The positions of one of the most transgressive figures in the Catholic world”, “Faith and freedom”, just to name a few), Teresa Forcades has been reflecting on complex and current issues for years, and she does so with extreme clarity and depth, overcoming stereotypes and naive readings, because “The freedom of radical self-determination is what the divine asks of us ”.
Jesuit Father Pino Piva, organizer of the course for pastoral workers “with” and “for” homosexual people, which for years now has attracted dozens of lay pastoral workers and priests, including bishops, to Bologna for years, will dialogue with Sister Teresa.
The initiative, which will be held in the auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce, in Piazza Libertà, from 5.30 pm, is promoted by Agedo Ragusa and Cristiani LGBT+ Sicilia.
The municipal administration, the Chamber of Commerce of South East Sicily and the University of Catania – Ragusa’s special educational structure – have granted patronage to the event.
