The two Jenneau Sun Odyssey 490 model boats sailed the seas of Portisco, Porto Vecchio, Bastia, Bonifacio and La Maddalena, for a total of 250 nautical miles. The students were accompanied by skippers Antonello Brigaglia And Roberto Carzedda and by navigation science teachers Giuseppe Terrosucreator of the project now in its fifth edition, and Giuseppe D’Alessio.

Among the skills acquired by the children during the project, created thanks to PCTO funds (Paths for transversal skills and orientation) and the support of the municipality of Olbia, there are route planning, navigation management, radio communications, reading of weather reports and charts, mooring and unmooring maneuvers, drafting of the logbook, management of the galley and maintenance of the boats.

“The young people – explain the professors – have learned to share spaces, to help each other and above all to face the small and large daily difficulties associated with sea travel”. Even the head teacher Stefano Stacca expressed great satisfaction with the success of the 2024 edition project.
