Fines, rent renewed for Safer Traffic Mobile

Is called Safer Traffic Mobile and it is a system produced by an Israeli company installed on the Dacia Duster of the local police of Modena to dynamically ascertain violations of the highway code, such as driving with a cell phone or without seat belts, but also to verify insurance and inspection of the means. The Municipality pays 15 thousand euros per month for rental to the Tel Aviv-based company that produces this exclusive solution consisting of 6 cameras high definition cameras that allow a 360 degree view. The images are used in real time by the specially trained agents on board. After the experimentation in 2020, the equipment rental contract was renewed for the following years and also for 2024 through a direct procedure without any tender due to the exclusivity of the product, unique on the market which costs the Municipality around 180 thousand euros per year. A rent too expensive according to the opposition forces who had presented a question to the city council since its debut in 2020.
