TERAMO – Conferral of public merit by the Province of Teramo to the National Alpine Association “for the meritorious volunteer work carried out in the social field and in civil protection interventions which saw the Alpini operate with courage and humanity, in support of the population, in every emergency situation”, as per Provincial Council Resolution n. 12 of 11/04/2024. This morning at the Association’s Teramo headquarters, the presentation of the award delivery ceremony which will take place on May 19th, with the motivation for the choice explained by the Provincial Councilor Flavio Bartolini.
The award ceremony also left room for memories, such as Gianfranco’s experience Sabatino, a volunteer in Kosovo in 1999 who, in intense emotion, recounted the emergency intervention to help a woman in childbirth. At his side is the group leader of the Teramo Alpine troops, Antonio Tonino By Carlo, who proudly described the Association’s activity and the synergy with the institutions. In the future of the association, the realization of the project aimed at very young people, “who are there and need a guide to learn the humanitarian spirit of the Alpine troops – said Di Carlo – and the decisive role of women who have been in the Alpine Corps for more than 20 years”.
