The section of the Italian Alpine Club of Lucca will present the book 65 years of interventions by the Alpine Rescue of Luccaedited by Marileno Dianda and commissioned by Sast, a work that tells the stories, commitment and altruism of the volunteers who dedicated their lives to bringing relief to mountain areas.

The appointment is for Friday (10 May) at the San Micheletto auditorium in Lucca. Starting from 9pm the protagonists of this extraordinary story will gather to share their experiences.

The evening will be moderated by Alessandro Bianchiniformer emergency doctor, Luciano Lucianihistorian and literary critic e Marco Bertoncinimanager of the Lucca del Soccorso station.

Bruno Barsuglianational mountaineering instructor and president of CAI of Luccawill introduce the guests and start the presentation.

The book offers a compelling account of the last 65 years of activity of the Tuscan Alpine and Speleological Rescue (Sast), highlighting not only the love for the mountains, but also the noble desire to help those who find themselves in danger in the mountain area. Marileno Dianda enriched the volume with the preface by Angelo Nerli and the contributions of the Alpine rescuers.

Various Sast personalities will speak, including Marcello Pesione of the founders of the Lucca Alpine Rescue station, e Mario Nottolifounder and exponent of Speleo Rescue, before the two operating structures merged. In addition, other volunteers will also participate, such as Da Porto, Dino Ciuffi and Francesco Cantini.

Retracing the history of Sast means immersing yourself in a universe of values ​​such as altruism, respect and sacrifice, where humanity and heroism are inextricably intertwined.
